GETTING STARTED with K9 collectors cards

Your agency has contracted 2Asterisk to create Collectors Cards of your K9 teams.

To make the process go smoothly, we need cooperation from each handler to get the info and photos needed.

We’ll make this as simple as possible! Just two steps - get good photos and complete the questionnaire, and we’ll be good to go.

STEP ONE: REVIEW PHOTO GUIDE & TAKE PHOTOS

Note: if you’ve been told that Heather is coming to your agency to take the photos, please skip to #2

If your Crime Scene or other department photographer will be taking the photos, please either:

  • have them forward the photos to you, and attach them to the questionnaire in #2 (preferred so all info on the K9 is together)

  • OR have them send the photos to me at heather@2asteriskdesigns.com, making sure they are clearly labeled with the dog’s name and agency.

Your Collectors Cards will be created using photos you submit on the form in step #2.

We need two photos - a portrait headshot for the front of the cards, and a casual or action shot for the back of the cards.


FRONT OF CARD:

This guide will help you get a great photo for the front of the card. You can see the tips right on the page, or download the PDF to review.

If your Crime Scene or other department photographer will be taking the photos for you, please show them the photo guide or card examples. They will know how to produce a good high-key photo for your cards.

BACK OF CARD:

For the back of the card - you can submit:

  • an action shot

  • a photo of your dog with his/her favorite toy

  • any favorite photo of your dog

  • a handler / dog photo (kneel with dog so photo is horizontal)

  • PLEASE KEEP IN MIND this photo needs to be horizontal!

Please feel free to submit several photos that you like - I’d be happy to help choose the best fit for the cards and prints.

STEP TWO: complete questionnaire and submit info

After all agency information and K9 team information is received, I’ll design your cards and prints. Items will be shipped directly to the agency contact, who will get in touch with you when your cards and prints are ready!
