HOW IT WORKS + CARD EXAMPLES
TWO CHOICES FOR CREATING YOUR CARDS:
1 - For agencies both near and far, we offer submission of your own photos, which will be professionally edited by Heather for creation of your cards. We’ll provide tips and details for getting your photos just right!
2 - If you’re a Florida agency, you may choose to have Heather travel to your location to photograph your K9 teams, then create the custom cards for your agency (travel fees may apply).
CARD EXAMPLES
Yup, these are “my” K9s. A couple of years ago we did a complete rebrand. The sheriff’s office had new branding, and I designed a new K9 logo for the unit, along with streamlined, modern card design. Scroll down to see the old design from 2010-2020.

I’m happy to have been photographing our neighboring agency and often K9 training partners, Sarasota PD, for 6+ years. We used their PD logo on the front of the cards, and added their K9 unit logo on the back.

North Port is a fast-growing city that’s moved from 20k to 100k residents in 25 years. They had just rebranded when we did their cards. The “police” and swoosh on the front was designed to match their vehicles, and they chose a badge for the front and department patch for the back.

I started photographing Venice PD dogs back in 2010. Like many agencies, they’ve rebranded since then and modernized the look of their vehicles and logo. Their cards reflect these changes as well. For their recent dogs, we’ve matched the fonts and minimalist feel. Their old and new looks are both shown here.

He asked if I would donate cards for the participants and I was thrilled to take part. The big difference here is that the images we are working with are often very poor quality - but they are all that exists. It takes a lot of editing magic for me to give these dogs the mementos they deserve. This is also why these cards have a background design that I created for this project - I found I was able to get better results on these images given the often blurry edges. This is a project that means a lot to me. A few years back I was contacted by a former Seal Team handler who sponsors a memorial run each year that honors a Seal dog killed in action in years past.
